Adventure 13 is off to a great start with a record number of campers at the Woodlands Campus. Campers spent Saturday completing all camp check-ins, meeting their counselors and cabin-mates, checking out the Woodlands Campus, and completing a swim test. Jeff Martin, this week's chapel speaker, kicked the week off by challenging campers to think about what it means to live by faith.
Sunday was our first off-camp experience. Campers traveled to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and hiked a six mile loop encountering tall pine groves, rocky outcrops, and a sandy beach where we had the opportunity to swim and slide down a natural water slide. Jeff shared about our need for roots in solid ground and how those roots grow deeper in times of drought. Campers were challenged to think about how past, current, and future trials can help them grow in their relationship with Christ.
Today campers are off to the main campus where they will participate in team building activities such as the trust fall, climbing wall and ropes course.
Enthusiasm is high, hearts are open to sharing, and we are all excited for the week to come.
