W.O.L.F. Trails is for boys ages 13-15 who are seeking a backpacking adventure on Isle Royale. W.O.L.F. stands for Wilderness Opportunity to Learn/Live Faith.

W.O.L.F. Trails is a life-changing experience for the young men selected to attend and we encourage those who wish to attend to register. Final confirmation for the program will follow a special application which will be distributed after the camper is registered. (When you initially register, you’ll register for the “waitlist.”)

Isle Royale National Park is a well kept secret; an isolated patch of rugged wilderness found in northern Lake Superior. Every summer, 8 boys and 2 leaders from UPBC have the privilege of backpacking on the island.

This week-long backpacking trip provides campers with unforgettable memories—riding to the island on the Isle Royale Queen, living out of a backpack, watching for moose, pushing physical limits, making lasting friendships, and celebrating the joys of each day over supper.

The Isle Royale trip is a long-standing UPBC tradition that, for many boys, has been an important milestone on the path to manhood.
